Benny LaRussa

Benny M. LaRussa, Jr.

Chairman, CEO

Benny LaRussa is the Chairman and CEO of StoneRiver. Additionally, he provides strategic leadership and staff development, as well as 35 years of real estate investment experience.

Benny has experience with all forms of real estate investing, including multifamily, office, industrial warehouse, retail, timber, and mining operations. Since 1988, the acquisition, disposition, and management of real estate assets have been a major focus of Benny’s professional career.

Benny’s career started in the banking and finance sector, where he worked at The First National Bank of Birmingham (now Regions Bank). He later became a founding member of First Commercial Bank and Canterbury Trust Company, Inc., both of which were sold to Synovus Financial Corporation in the 90’s. Since the formation of StoneRiver, Benny has worked diligently to develop a team of real estate professionals possessing the technical expertise, accountability, management, and leadership skills needed to be a leading real estate company in the Southeast.

Benny currently serves on the boards of numerous private companies and non-profit organizations. He is also the Chairman of the Joseph S. Bruno Charitable Foundation. Benny was a director of Bruno’s Corporation until 1995, when the company was sold to KKR.

Benny received his BS in Finance from Auburn University and a Master of Public and Private Management from Birmingham-Southern College.

Joseph Welden

Joseph Welden, III

President, CIO

Joseph Welden joined StoneRiver in 2004 and currently serves as its President and Chief Investment Officer. Joseph’s responsibilities include strategic leadership, identifying and assessing new and existing investments, and managing the operations of StoneRiver and StoneRiver Property Management. In his role as Chief Investment Officer, Joseph works closely with the investment team to execute StoneRiver’s investment strategy and oversees acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.

Joseph is a former member of the Board of Directors for Innovation Depot, a member of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, a former President of the Junior Board for the Birmingham Zoo, and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Joseph graduated cum laude from Hampden-Sydney College with a BA in Mathematical Economics. He earned his Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Alabama.

Dan Fuchs

EVP of Development

Dan Fuchs serves as Executive Vice President of Development for StoneRiver, where he is responsible for leading and expanding the company's multifamily development strategy. In addition, Dan oversees the day-to-day operations of StoneRiver's Development, Construction Management, and Asset Management teams.

With 17+ years of experience in real estate development and finance, Dan previously worked as the Chief Financial Officer and later as the Chief Investments Officer for a national real estate developer.

Dan earned a BA in Management and Economics from Gettysburg College and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Jim Richardson

Jim Richardson

EVP of Tax & Corporate Strategies

Jim Richardson serves as Executive Vice President of Tax and Corporate Strategies. Jim works directly with StoneRiver’s senior management in the development and execution of company strategic initiatives and the implementation and supervision of tax strategies. Jim’s extensive knowledge and experience benefit both StoneRiver and its investors.

Jim previously served as a partner for RSM US, a leading U.S. provider of audit, tax, and consulting services to middle-market clients. He was a founding partner in 1991 of Sellers, Richardson, Holman & West, LLP, which merged into RSM US, LLP in 2015.

Jim served as the 2019 Tocqueville Campaign Chair for the United Way of Central Alabama. He has also served in leadership roles for Canterbury United Methodist Church, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Rotary Club of Birmingham – Sunrise, the Harbert Civic Center Foundation, and the American Heart Association.

Jim is a graduate of Marion Military Institute. He also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a BS in Accounting.

Colin Moorhouse

Colin Moorhouse

Senior VP, General Counsel

Colin Moorhouse serves as StoneRiver’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Colin’s responsibilities include all legal aspects of StoneRiver’s real estate developments, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as overseeing all risk management disciplines.

Colin is a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham, the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, and the Birmingham Tip-Off Club. He also serves as a catechist at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and is a former member of the Advisory Board for the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. Before joining the StoneRiver team, Colin was a partner in the Banking and Corporate groups at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP.

Colin graduated cum laude from Randolph-Macon College with degrees in Business/Economics and Political Science. Colin received his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he graduated with honors and was named to the Order of the Coif.

Ryan Dennison, Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer

Ryan Dennison serves as StoneRiver’s Chief Financial Officer. Ryan leads all finance and accounting functions for StoneRiver and StoneRiver Property Management, including planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all corporate, property, and development debt and finance-related activities for the companies.

Ryan is a licensed CPA with 20+ years of leadership experience in strategic finance, operations, and accounting. Ryan has a proven track record of delivering outstanding leadership, operational excellence, financial discipline, and strategic growth. Ryan’s impressive and diverse background includes time as an Executive Advisor of Dennison Advisors LLC, CFO at NorthPoint Development, SVP of Capital Markets and Investor Relations at American Campus Communities, Thermon Group Holdings, and Ernst and Young.

Ryan graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance. Ryan was named to Institutional Investor's 2020-21 All-America Executive Team and serves as a committee member for Young Life.

Emily Jordan

Emily Jordan

Chief of Staff

Emily Jordan serves as Chief of Staff for StoneRiver Company and StoneRiver Property Management. In this role, Emily collaborates with both companies to strengthen internal operational aspects and to ensure that they are well-positioned for future growth and success. While Emily works with all functional department heads, she works directly with the VP of Property Management on building infrastructure for property management and enhancing the company culture through strengthened communication.

Prior to coming to StoneRiver, Emily held various positions with The Bissell Companies and Trammell Crow. She has spent most of her career in accounting, special projects, and management positions. One of her specialties is building out processes and procedures while maintaining a team-oriented atmosphere.

Emily joined StoneRiver in 2006 and since has been involved in the growth and worked strategically with senior leadership to build the company StoneRiver is today. Her previous roles in accounting and operations, along with her experience prior, uniquely qualify her to lead our staff.

Emily is a native of Birmingham and received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Auburn University. She is a former member of the Southminster Day School Board of Directors and the Birmingham Zoo's Junior Board of Directors.

Mollie Seymour

Mollie Seymour

Managing Director of Capital Markets

Mollie Seymour serves as the Managing Director of Capital Markets for StoneRiver. In this role, Mollie is responsible for leading StoneRiver’s marketing and investor relations team. She and her team work to cultivate relationships with current and prospective investors and identify opportunities for investor participation in StoneRiver strategies.

Mollie joined StoneRiver from a leading, independent wealth management firm where she served as Market President. In her career, she also provided wealth management and trust services at a regional bank. Mollie has worked with individuals, families, endowments, and foundations to provide holistic management in a fiduciary capacity. Mollie is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham and the Alabama Association of Charitable Gift Planners.

Mollie graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Finance and Managerial Finance. Mollie is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association’s National Graduate Trust School.

Amy Lazenby

Amy Lazenby, SHRM-CP

VP of Human Resources

Amy Lazenby serves as Vice President of Human Resources for StoneRiver Company and StoneRiver Property Management.

Amy has 15+ years of experience in human resources, leading recruiting, benefits, and employee relations. Prior to joining StoneRiver, Amy served as Director of Human Resources at The Altamont School. Amy also previously served as a Consultant with Lee Hecht Harrison in Birmingham, Alabama.

Amy graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting. Amy received her designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional through SHRM.

Catherine Holcombe

Catherine Holcombe, CPM, CAPS, ACoM

VP of Property Management

Catherine Holcombe serves as Vice President of Property Management for StoneRiver and StoneRiver Property Management (SRPM). Catherine is responsible for overseeing StoneRiver’s apartment communities, SRPM’s on-site staff, and property revenue and expense management initiatives.

Prior to joining StoneRiver, Catherine was a Regional Vice President with a Birmingham-based property management company, where she worked with a wide range of developers and operators in various commercial real estate sectors, developing expertise in both lease-ups and stabilized properties. Catherine oversaw the successful lease-up of The Pizitz Building, The Denham Building, 20 Midtown, and Flats on 4th, all located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Catherine is an active member of the Greater Birmingham Apartment Association and the NextGen CPM Leaders Program with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). She received her designations as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Accredited Commercial Manager (ACoM) from the IREM and as a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) from the National Apartment Association.

Joseph Welden joined StoneRiver in 2004 and currently serves as its President and Chief Investment Officer. Robert Brown

VP of Asset Management

As StoneRiver’s Vice President of Asset Management, Robert Brown is responsible for maximizing the financial performance and return on investment for StoneRiver's real estate portfolio. He collaborates closely with Property Management, Accounting, and Investments to ensure asset-level business plans align with our investment strategy to achieve targeted investor returns.

Prior to joining SRC, Robert served as the Vice President of Asset Management at Capstone Development Partners, LLC. In this role, Robert led the asset management strategy and business plan execution for a 9,500-bed on-campus/campus edge student housing portfolio.

Robert received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and his Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University.

Tommy Hiltz

VP of Investments

Tommy Hiltz serves as StoneRiver’s Vice President of Investments. Tommy’s responsibilities include deal sourcing, underwriting, and business plan development for StoneRiver’s real estate investments.

Prior to joining StoneRiver, Tommy served as Vice President of Acquisitions for a real estate private equity firm in Boston, where he sourced new investment opportunities throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, secured debt financing instruments, and negotiated transaction processes. In addition to his work in acquisitions, Tommy has experience in real estate private credit, where he originated debt financing instruments across the capital stack.

Tommy graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and went on to earn a Master of Science in Finance.

Donald Gambril

VP of Investments

Donald Gambril currently serves as a Vice President of Investments for StoneRiver. Donald’s responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities and underwriting and developing business plans for multifamily acquisitions and other opportunistic real estate investments. Donald works in conjunction with the asset management, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure new investments are aligned with StoneRiver’s investment strategy.

Prior to joining the StoneRiver team, Donald was in investment sales, serving as Director for a privately-held multifamily advisory firm where he was involved in over $1B in transactions across the Southeast. In that role, Donald sourced business and managed transactions to help clients achieve their goals.

Donald, a native of Birmingham, received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration with a major in finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama.

Blake Sellers

Investment Associate

Blake Sellers serves as an Investment Associate for StoneRiver Company. In this role, Blake is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, underwriting and developing business plans for target real estate and assisting in other aspects of the acquisitions process. Blake works in conjunction with the asset management, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure new investments are aligned with StoneRiver’s investment strategy.

Blake joined StoneRiver in 2019 as a Business Intelligence and Pricing Analyst and quickly rose to the ranks of Investment Analyst and Investment Associate.

Blake, a native of Tuscaloosa, received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama.

Stuart Mackintosh

VP of Construction

Stuart Mackintosh serves as StoneRiver’s Vice President of Construction and is responsible for the successful execution of StoneRiver’s ground-up developments and value-add renovation projects.

Stuart spent several years in various capacities with Gray Construction before joining StoneRiver. In such roles, Stuart managed the estimating, design, and construction process for new and existing facilities throughout the Southeast.

Stuart graduated from Sewanee, The University of the South, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Stuart also earned a Master of Building Construction from Auburn University, where he received the department’s “Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year” award.

Paul Daniels

Construction Manager

Paul Daniels serves as StoneRiver Company's Construction Manager. Paul is responsible for the successful execution of StoneRiver's value-add construction and provides support to new developments.

Paul spent several years in commercial construction management before joining StoneRiver in 2020. He focused on heavy commercial and high-profile design projects in the Southeast, handling design coordination, estimating, and construction management.

Paul graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management while participating in the Cooperative Education Program for students, completing one year of full-time employment during his curriculum.

Mollie Seymour serves as the Managing Director of Capital Markets for StoneRiver. In this role, Mollie is responsible for leading StoneRiver’s marketing and investor relations team. Nino Yu Tiamco

VP of Investor Relations

Nino Yu Tiamco serves as StoneRiver’s Vice President of Investor Relations and is responsible for StoneRiver’s capital raising, investor relations, reporting, and marketing efforts.

Nino previously served as an associate at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate finance transactions.

Nino graduated summa cum laude from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Nino received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where he graduated with honors.

Kristy Medley

Director of Marketing

Kristy Medley serves as StoneRiver's Director of Marketing and, in such role, leads corporate marketing and ensures that StoneRiver’s brand is aligned with its investment objectives. As a brand strategist, she is responsible for developing and leading the marketing and public relations strategies for StoneRiver and StoneRiver Property Management.

Kristy has 15+ years of marketing experience. Prior to joining StoneRiver, Kristy was the Marketing Director with Signature Homes, where her wide range of knowledge and expertise in marketing strategy, website design, digital marketing, and branding made significant contributions to growth and profitability.

Kristy graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Kristy is a current member of the Young Supporters Board of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Director of Operations

Katie Roncadori serves as Director of Operations for StoneRiver Property Management. Joining StoneRiver in 2017, Katie has a proven track record as a dedicated manager with a strong work ethic and the ability to build lasting client relations while keeping the owners’ interests in mind. Her key areas of expertise include systematized operations, budget creation and implementation, staff development, revenue enhancement, cost control, and problem-solving.

Prior to joining the StoneRiver team, Katie served Engel Realty in Leasing, Management, and Marketing and TriBridge Residential as a Community Manager.

Katie is a native of Birmingham and a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Ryan Daidone

Director of Maintenance

Ryan Daidone serves as the Director of Maintenance for StoneRiver Property Management. Ryan is responsible for the maintenance operations at all multifamily and office divisions while also supporting the Regional staff by coordinating capital projects, insurance repairs, and performing property inspections to ensure compliance with the company's standards.

Prior to joining StoneRiver, Ryan spent ten years serving Bell Partners in all roles of multifamily maintenance, most recently as both the Maintenance Manager and Renovation Coordinator for a 300-unit, 2.3-million-dollar property renovation. Ryan is a Birmingham native.

Tori Baxley

Tori Baxley, CAPS, CAM

Regional Manager

Tori Baxley is the Regional Manager for StoneRiver Property Management. She leads property teams by creating a shared vision, mission, and goals and encourages collaboration and teamwork to achieve lasting results. Tori brings with her extensive experience in the Property Management industry, as well as a diverse range of asset knowledge, including Class A, mixed-use properties, government housing, and multi-site portfolios.

Before joining StoneRiver, Tori worked as a Property Manager for a Birmingham-based property management company. During this time, she worked with a wide range of ownership groups, studied market trends in a competitive downtown market, and built dynamic teams. She received her designations as a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) from the IREM and as a Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) from the National Apartment Association.

Tim Fitzpatrick

Tim Fitzpatrick, CPA

VP of Accounting

Tim Fitzpatrick serves as StoneRiver’s Vice President of Accounting. Tim is a licensed CPA with 17+ years of experience serving the real estate industry. As Vice President of Accounting, Tim oversees corporate accounting, property accounting, treasury management, and accounting and reporting for StoneRiver real-estate funds.

Before joining StoneRiver, Tim served as Vice President of Accounting for another Birmingham-based real estate company. During his tenure, Tim was instrumental in establishing the financial processes for the firm’s fund platform. Previously, Tim served as the Director of Accounting for Colonial Properties Trust, where his team supported the company’s multifamily and commercial divisions.

Tim graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting.

Amy Lazenby serves as Vice President of Human Resources for StoneRiver Company and StoneRiver Property Management.

Amy has 15+ years of experience in human resources, leading recruiting, benefits, and employee relations. Prior to joining StoneRiver, Amy served as Director of Human Resources at The Altamont School. Amy also previously served as a Consultant with Lee Hecht Harrison in Birmingham, Alabama.

Amy graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting. Amy received her designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional through SHRM.

Christie Smith

Human Resources Manager

Christie Smith serves as Human Resources Manager for StoneRiver Company and StoneRiver Property Management. Christie has 15+ years in Human Resources with extensive experience managing payroll & benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.

In addition to her Human Resources responsibilities, Christie also provides grant management assistance for the Joseph S. Bruno Charitable Foundation.

Christie graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Science with a concentration in Financial Planning and Counseling. Christie received her designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional through SHRM and also currently holds certificates in Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and Organizational Management (OM).

Mike Ogles

Mike Ogles

VP of Information Technology

Mike Ogles serves as StoneRiver’s Vice President of Information Technology. In this role, Mike is responsible for coordinating the security, design, and implementation of all information technology resources and products for StoneRiver and its onsite property management teams. Mike manages StoneRiver’s technology platforms and has been vital in the development of StoneRiver’s IT security policies and procedures.

Mike has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, including with the City of Hoover, Alabama; Chester’s International; and Harbert Management Corporation, where he provided strategic and operational technology services for business units with multiple locations.

Mike graduated from Huntington College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

Missy Johnson

Project Assistant

Missy Johnson serves as a Project Assistant for StoneRiver Company, supporting the Senior Vice President and General Counsel and providing administrative support to various team members. Missy is responsible for supporting acquisitions, sales, and closings of properties, managing the investor database, tracking investments, and overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the StoneRiver Company Office.

Missy has over 20 years of experience in various industries, including health, research, recruitment, and management.

Missy graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion, minoring in Business, and a Master of Science in Sport and Fitness Management from Troy University.
