Employee Spotlight
At StoneRiver Company, we highly value our team and recognize the significant contribution they make towards our success. Our team's accomplishments are celebrated on a daily basis, and we take pride in them. We're thrilled to share their stories with the world, and we'll be highlighting one employee every month.
This month, we’re featuring Rabecca Lenhart.
Rabecca was nominated for the Employee Spotlight due to her positive and light-hearted spirit. Her positive energy is contagious, and she has the ability to make the residents laugh. She always ensures that the residents feel heard, respected, and confident that their concerns are being addressed. She works as the glue to the Vital office, bridging the gap between management, maintenance, and the office team. She is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Furthermore, she is great at acknowledging mistakes and working towards a solution while keeping everyone laughing. Rabecca is the perfect fit for her position due to her professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
What is your role at StoneRiver, and how long have you been a part of the team?
As the assistant property manager at Vital at Springbrook, I take pride in maintaining strong relationships with residents and ensuring the community runs smoothly. I started my journey with StoneRiver in 2020 as a leasing consultant at The Village at Westland Cove and rejoined the team when The Ridge at Hamilton Crossing was acquired. I was most recently promoted to assistant property manager at Vital in March 2023. The recognition of being selected twice for employee of the month has been a humbling experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue growing with the company.
What’s your ideal way to spend your weekends?
As a girl who enjoys spending her weekends at home, I take pleasure in cleaning and organizing, and one of my hidden talents is cooking. On my free days, I also like to go shopping; however, nothing beats spending quality time with my family and dog.
I also have a passion for refurbishing old furniture and giving it a new lease on life. Overall, I find joy in the simple things in life and cherish the moments I spend with my loved ones.
If you had to pick one age to be permanently, which age would you choose?
I can’t help but think that my current age of 28 would be the ideal age for me. At this age, I feel like I am young enough to be considered youthful and energetic yet old enough to have gained a certain level of respect and wisdom. I believe that being 28 years old is the perfect balance between youth and maturity, and I wouldn’t mind staying at this age forever.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
The best advice I have ever received came from my mom, who told me to unapologetically be myself no matter what life throws my way. Looking back, if I could have a conversation with my younger self, I would tell her to stop worrying about what everyone thinks of me and to stop trying to please everyone. After all, it’s impossible to please everyone, and it’s much more important to be authentic and true to oneself.
If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
If I were to write a book about my life, I would title it “A Bit Hectic but Fun.” From crazy adventures to unexpected challenges, I have always found a way to enjoy the journey. According to my close friends, they would describe me as a wild, funny, and caring person.
What’s a mistake you made early on in your career, and what did you learn from it?
One mistake I made early in my career was not asking enough questions. Even if something isn’t listed in your job description, it’s important to ask “why?” and clarify things. Never stay quiet if you don’t understand something. My advice to anyone just starting is never to stop learning and always ask for help if you don’t know how to do something. The more knowledge and experience you gain, the better you will become.
What led you to this career?
I used to work in construction project management, dealing with new constructions and properties. Although I enjoyed it, I missed interacting with people on a more regular basis and using my personality to excel at my job. Since switching to my current career, I have taken pride in successfully leasing three communities and assisting other communities in achieving success.
What’s one thing that surprised you about working at StoneRiver?
I really appreciate how caring everyone is at StoneRiver. Regardless of their role, everyone is very personable, and I feel like StoneRiver values me as an individual. I’m excited about the opportunity to grow and take on new challenges within the company. I hope to make StoneRiver a long-term career for myself.

PROPERTY OPERATIONAL TIPS
Marketing Assets for 2024
Branding is the essence of a company. It’s how companies create consistency and brand recognition with customers and prospective clients. Most people can look at the colors red and yellow and immediately think of McDonald’s. Imagine if McDonald’s had changed their logo throughout the years, would the iconic yellow arches still be familiar to audiences? In order to maintain an unwavering brand identity, McDonald’s has brand guidelines in place to keep things dialed in even when there might be too many cooks in the kitchen (pun intended).
As we begin a new year, I would like to remind everyone in our organization about the significance of following our branding guidelines. Consistency in branding is a crucial element in building a strong brand identity that connects with our target audience. To make things easier for you, I have prepared our branding toolbox, which contains all the necessary assets, such as logos, fonts, colors, and other graphic elements that you will need to create branded materials. By using the branding toolbox, you can guarantee that all your communications align with our brand guidelines and communicate a consistent message to our customers.

Life Event Changes
Life always brings change! Whether it’s getting married or becoming a parent, you might need to update your benefit selections, so we wanted to provide the information below to guide you through the process.
When can I change my benefits?
Most benefit elections are made during annual Open Enrollment each fall or when you are a new hire and remain in effect until you make changes. If you experience a Qualified Life Status Change, you can make limited changes to your benefits within 30 days of the event. If your change isn’t reported within 30 days of your event, you must wait until the next Open Enrollment period to update your elections.
Examples of Qualified Life Status Changes:
- Change in legal marital status.
- Change in the number of dependents.
- Change in dependent status, such as a dependent losing coverage under another plan.
Home Address Changes
Changes to your home address can be made directly through the Landrum Employee Portal, or you can send your updated address to Christie Smith at csmith@stonerivercompany.com.
Tax Withholding Changes
Changes to your allowances or exemptions for federal and state taxes can be made at any time through the Landrum Employee Portal.

In addition, you might qualify for personal leave and disability pay through our employer-paid short-term disability plan.
Special New Year Section
It’s the new year, and that means a new you! Right? Every new year, millions of people set New Year’s resolutions, but most will be abandoned by February. How do we stay on track and meet those goals that we so desperately want to achieve? First, raise your hand if you set the same goals every year. I bet a lot of people are raising their hands. We don’t set goals that we don’t want to achieve. We set goals with no plan, with no known meaningfulness behind them, and with “loopholes.” This year, we want to help you achieve your goals, and to help, we have compiled the top tips for motivation, money, mental health, productivity, and more!
5 tips to start your new year the right way
Do a self-review. You do it for your career, so why not apply a self-review to your life? Take a moment to consider how the past year went for you. Hopefully, in 2023, you were able to find time to accomplish the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year. Ask yourself what personally went well and what you’d like to improve as the new year begins. What new skills or relationships did you develop that were a bright point in your year? What caused you to stress this year? A self-review like this can help you better understand the highs and lows of the last year and set a precedent for a great year ahead.
Reach out to loved ones. Take some steps to inspire more connection with your loved ones in the new year. Set aside time to send a few quick texts or make calls to your family or friends you haven’t spoken to in a while. Update them on how you’re doing and ask for the same in return, and if a goal is to improve your relationships in 2024, be sure to do this often throughout the year to keep those connections strong.
Clean up. Similar to a fresh to-do list, starting the year off with a tidy space can help you mentally prepare for the new year. Whether you simply pick up your area or do a deep clean is up to you, but the effects can be great. Studies show that a clean space is associated with more positive emotions, like happiness, satisfaction, and calm.
Set new goals. Of course, the new year is the perfect time to set some new goals for yourself. Make SMART goals, meaning they are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-based. All of these qualities help make a goal easier for you to accomplish, setting you up for more success in the future.
Put yourself at the top of the list. Put yourself at the top of the list by taking care of yourself. If you strive to reach your own goals, you will become a better spouse, friend, child, and parent.
Top 3 tips for a more productive 2024
Take a Long, Hard Look at Your Calendar. The new year is a perfect time to review your recurring meeting schedule. Begin by assigning all your recurring meetings a rating in terms of importance. “1” means it’s absolutely that you attend. “5” means it doesn’t matter whether you’re there. Once you’ve rated all your meetings, try declining your “5”s and see how much Focus Time that opens up.
Time Block Your Calendar. Once you get a little more wiggle room in your schedule, you must decide how to use that extra time. Time blocking is when you prioritize your task list, estimate how much time each task will take, and proactively assign blocks of time on your calendar to each task.
Create New Healthy Work Routines. Establishing daily routines and sticking to them to create comfort and stability.
Tips to Prioritize Your Mental Health in 2024
Find Your Focus. If you focus on one area at a time and start to integrate that into your life, it can be really helpful and feed over to other areas of your life.
De-Stigmatize Mental Health. While great strides have been made in recent years, an unfortunate stigma still surrounds mental health. People often diminish their mental health needs because of fear of being treated differently or what family, friends, or colleagues will think. Sadly, more than half of people with mental illness don’t get the support they need. So, to prioritize mental health this year, start talking about it. If each of us would practice this mental health tip, the change could be profound.
Don’t Wait for a Crisis. If you feel really overwhelmed, it’s going to be harder for you to start a new habit or to implement new strategies. If you review your daily life and discover a decline in what’s normal or healthy for you, taking steps toward positive change can be beneficial.
Connect with Intention. Making this intentional connection might involve scheduling time to get together in person, catching up over text, or scheduling regular Zoom calls. This meaningful connection strengthens your sense of community and can help combat the cumulative effect of stress and anxiety that exists in the world today.
5 Ways to Save More Money in 2024
Make One Big Change. Often, it’s the big stuff that takes up most of your budget. Your car and house payments, for example, probably eat up a far larger percentage of your income than whatever small indulgences you enjoy. Yet, when it comes to looking for ways to cut spending, many people often chip away at the little costs. This can be a misguided approach because cutting tons of little expenses is hard to sustain and may not have a big long-term impact on your savings anyway. Rather than doing this, look at those big expenses and see if you can make one change that will be easy to stick with and give you lots of extra cash. For example, selling your current expensive car and getting a cheap used one or moving to a less-expensive apartment could free up tons of money to save.
Evaluate Your Memberships and Subscription Services. There are so many subscription services out there now for everything from streaming music to vehicle theft protection to video doorbells. All of these different monthly costs can really add up and may not be necessary. So, take a look at your credit cards and bank statements to see what programs you’re a subscriber to or a member of. If you spot anything on your list that you aren’t actively using and getting value from, cancel it and redirect that money directly into savings instead.
Deal With Your Debt. If you owe a lot of money, every dollar you’re paying toward it is money you cannot save for your future. So, try to create a proactive plan for paying down high-interest debts.
Set Detailed Savings Goals. If you want to be successful at saving more, it’s helpful to know exactly what that means to you. You should try to be as specific and detailed as possible in establishing your goals, as this makes accomplishing them much more likely.
Automate Your Savings. Finally, making saving money automatic will significantly increase the chances you’ll stick with your plan to invest more for your future. Once you set up the transfer of funds to savings, it becomes more effort and a conscious choice to cancel it — and many people won’t do that.
