StoneRiver Company is a vertically integrated investment firm that acquires, develops, and manages multifamily real estate in the Southeast.  We were founded to invest in and manage a wide range of real estate properties, such as office, industrial, retail, timber, and multifamily, and we narrowed our focus after experiencing repeated success in the multifamily space. Since our inception, we have successfully acquired and developed approximately $1 Billion of multifamily assets across the Southeast.

StoneRiver Through the Years

1995

The firm was established within Sterling Capital Management with the aim of managing family real estate investments.

2006

The firm was rebranded as StoneRiver Company

2007

StoneRiver Property Management is formed to manage StoneRiver investments

2011

StoneRiver pivots to become multifamily specialists and begins accepting outside equity

2016

StoneRiver launches first multifamily fund (Fund I)

2018

Fund I deploys last of its equity, ultimately acquiring six communities in Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama between 2016 and 2018

2019

StoneRiver launches its second multifamily fund (Fund II)

2021

Fund II holds final closing

2022

Fund I sells its final assets, and investor returns exemplify StoneRiver’s ability to identify, underwrite, and operate high-quality multifamily opportunities in the Southeast.

2023

StoneRiver launches its third multifamily fund (Fund III) and continues to invest in the growth of the firm
