At StoneRiver, being Community Focused isn’t just a value—it’s a responsibility we carry into every market we serve.

This past week, StoneRiver hosted a volunteer day with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, putting our Community Focused value into action in a meaningful way. Together, we stepped behind the scenes of a mission that is both urgent and deeply impactful: helping ensure families across Central Alabama have consistent access to food.

Inside Our Volunteer Day with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama

Our team spent the day immersed in the full lifecycle of food distribution—gaining a deeper appreciation for the operational scale and precision required to fight food insecurity.

We:

  • Sorted and inspected donated food items to ensure quality and safety
  • Prepared products for distribution to agency partners
  • Assembled food boxes that will go directly to families in need

In just a few hours, our teams:

  • Sorted over 10,000 pounds of food donations
  • Weighed 3,000 pounds of food for warehouse distribution

Every pound processed represents meals that will reach individuals and families across the Food Bank’s 12-county service area—a powerful reminder that small actions, when multiplied, create meaningful outcomes.

Why This Matters

Food insecurity remains a critical issue across many of the communities we serve throughout the Southeast. Organizations like the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama play a vital role in bridging that gap—connecting surplus resources with real, immediate needs.

For our team, this experience was more than a volunteer day. It was an opportunity to:

Living Our Values Beyond Real Estate

As a vertically integrated real estate firm, StoneRiver’s work is rooted in creating and managing places where people live. But our responsibility doesn’t stop at property lines.

Our People Driven culture empowers our team to engage beyond their day-to-day roles, while our Forward Thinking approach challenges us to consider the broader impact we can have in our communities. Whether through development, operations, or outreach, we are committed to contributing to stronger, more resilient neighborhoods.
