Wesley Burleson

Regional Manager, StoneRiver Property Management

StoneRiver Company is excited to announce that Wesley Burleson has been promoted to Regional Manager for StoneRiver Property Management. In this role, he provides strategic oversight and leadership across a portfolio of multifamily communities, supporting onsite teams in administrative operations, compliance execution, financial performance, and resident experience. Wesley is known for building strong property-level leadership through clear expectations, consistent communication, and a collaborative, solutions-driven approach.

Wesley has been with StoneRiver for two years and has steadily advanced through the organization, serving as both a Property Manager and Area Manager before earning his current role. His growth within the company reflects his strong operational instincts, commitment to excellence, and ability to drive results through people-focused leadership.

Prior to joining StoneRiver, Wesley served as a Property Manager with Asset Living and previously held the role of Assistant Property Manager with RedPeak in Denver, Colorado. He began his career in property management as a leasing agent and quickly rose through the ranks, earning a Property Manager position within three years. With more than eight years of industry experience, Wesley brings a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of onsite operations.

Kat Crawford

Regional Manager, StoneRiver Property Management

StoneRiver Company is excited to announce the addition of Kat Crawford to the StoneRiver Property Management team!

Kat Crawford serves as a Regional Manager for StoneRiver Property Management, where she is responsible for overseeing the operational and financial performance of a portfolio of multifamily communities. In her role, Kat provides strategic leadership across her region, partnering closely with on-site teams to drive occupancy, revenue growth, and resident satisfaction while ensuring alignment with StoneRiver’s standards and long-term investment objectives.

With nearly two decades of experience in the multifamily industry, including more than 16 years in leadership roles, Kat brings a disciplined, results-oriented approach to property management. She has a proven track record of optimizing asset performance through hands-on operational oversight, detailed financial analysis, and the implementation of targeted marketing and leasing strategies.

Prior to joining StoneRiver, Kat served as a Regional Manager at D.R. Horton, where she oversaw the lease-up and stabilization of eight build-to-rent and multifamily communities totaling more than 2,300 units across multiple Southeast markets. In this role, she led high-performing teams, implemented structured performance plans, and worked cross-functionally with construction and ownership groups to maximize asset value from delivery through stabilization.

Kat is known for her hands-on leadership style and her ability to develop high-performing teams. She is deeply committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism across her portfolio.

She is an active member of the Greater Birmingham Apartment Association and has been recognized throughout her career with multiple industry awards, including Community Manager of the Year and the Circle of Excellence Award.

Garrett Frye, Investment Analyst

StoneRiver Company is excited to announce that Garrett Frye has joined the team as an Investment Analyst. In this role, he will support the investments team by conducting financial analyses of potential property acquisitions, performing market research, and managing due diligence on new opportunities. Garrett is responsible for compiling internal reports and providing assistance at the deal level. He collaborates with the asset management, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure that new investments align with StoneRiver’s investment strategy.

Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Birmingham-Southern College.

Jenique Wilkerson, Regional Manager

StoneRiver Company is excited to announce the addition of Jenique Wilkerson to the StoneRiver Property Management team!

Jenique Wilkerson serves as the Regional Manager for StoneRiver Property Management. In this role, she is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all administrative, compliance, management, and fiscal operations within the StoneRiver portfolio of properties. Jenique leads property teams by creating a shared vision, mission, and goals while fostering collaboration and teamwork to achieve sustainable results.

Jenique brings extensive experience in the property management industry, as well as a diverse knowledge of various asset types, including new development lease-ups, student housing, and multi-site portfolios.

Jeremy Llewellyn, Director of Maintenance

StoneRiver is thrilled to welcome Jeremy Llewellyn as the Director of Maintenance for StoneRiver Property Management. Jeremy is responsible for the maintenance operations at all multifamily and office divisions while also supporting the regional staff by coordinating capital projects, insurance repairs, and performing property inspections to ensure compliance with the company’s standards.

Prior to joining StoneRiver, Jeremy amassed over 30 years of extensive experience in multifamily maintenance, most recently as the Senior Area Maintenance Manager for Greystar. Jeremy is committed to enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring exceptional service delivery in multifamily property management.

Our dedicated team at StoneRiver collaborated with United Way Hands On for an exceptional volunteer event, transforming the outdoor learning classroom in the City of Midfield into a vibrant oasis of greenery and education. Throughout the day, we engaged in a rewarding mission by planting various fruit trees that will provide beauty and delicious fruits for years to come. We also sowed a diverse array of fresh, nutritious vegetables, which will not only enhance the environment but also educate local youth about sustainable agriculture and healthy eating.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to fostering community growth. Together, we created a lush and inviting space that promises to spark curiosity and inspire future generations of learners.

As the volunteer center for United Way of Central Alabama, United Way Hands On connects dedicated volunteers with partner agencies and community organizations, offering a wide range of flexible opportunities for individuals to positively impact our neighborhood and make meaningful contributions.

Jennifer Fields serves as Human Resources Manager for StoneRiver Company and StoneRiver Property Management.

With over 25 years of dedicated experience in the field of Human Resources, Jennifer has developed a robust skill set that includes comprehensive management of payroll and benefits administration, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and fostering positive employee relations. Jennifer is adept at implementing innovative HR strategies that align with organizational goals, enhancing employee engagement and retention. Her expertise also extends to conflict resolution and developing training programs that empower employees and promote a productive workplace culture. Her strategic oversight plays a crucial role in driving the success of both companies by cultivating a motivated and compliant workforce.

Jennifer graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management.

Brandy Cullins serves as Vice President of Property Management

With a proven track record as a strategic and results-driven property management expert, Brandy brings a wealth of leadership experience in new developments, Class-A lease-ups, and multi-state portfolios. We can’t wait to see the amazing impact she’ll have on our team and our communities!

Over a distinguished career, Brandy Cullins has consistently driven performance and innovation in property management. Prior to joining the StoneRiver team, Brandy served as Vice President of Property Management for Foursite Property Management. Her expertise spans 23 Class-A lease-ups across diverse markets, multi-state portfolio oversight of 5,000 units, and comprehensive restructuring of operational strategies.

Brandy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Great Basin College and is working on her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University.

Sam Ess serves as the Development Manager

StoneRiver Company, a multifamily real estate firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, is excited to announce the addition of Sam Ess as our new Development Manager.

In this role, Sam will be responsible for the successful execution of StoneRiver’s development strategy through deal sourcing, financial analysis and modeling, due diligence, debt/equity procurement processes, asset closing, and business model execution. 

Prior to joining the StoneRiver team, Sam served as the Senior Development Associate at DHI Communities, a Multifamily Development Platform of D.R. Horton, where he managed market research, financial analysis and underwriting, due diligence, entitlements, permitting, construction, lease-up, and disposition of over 200 multifamily unit developments across the coastal markets of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Sam graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Jeff Sledden serves as Vice President of Development

StoneRiver Company is thrilled to introduce Jeff Sledden as our new Vice President of Development. In this role, Jeff will oversee the sourcing and execution of ground-up multifamily developments in key markets. With a decade of experience in real estate development and construction, Jeff has played a pivotal role in leading large-scale developments and driving operational growth. Prior to joining StoneRiver, Jeff led the Coastal Carolina Division for a Fortune 200 developer, successfully delivering high-impact projects across the region.

Jeff received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Entrepreneurship and Finance from the College of Charleston and has completed advanced postgraduate programs through The Wharton School of Business and Villanova. He actively contributes to the community as a board member for the nonprofit After School Opportunity Lab.

An avid surfer and fisherman, Jeff enjoys time on the water and resides with his family in Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
